Virtual Private Network (vpn)
Instructors who teach prison classes need to install the Cisco VPN Client
software on any computer they plan to use off campus. Please e-mail me for the
download link if you teach for Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell.
Installing the VPN software
- Download the software, saving the file to your desktop.
- Double click the zipped client folder to open it.
- Highlight the vpn folder on the left.
- Under Folder Tasks, select extract all files.
- Follow the wizard's instructions on the screen.
- Double click the vpn folder.
- Double click Setup, and click Run.
- Follow the wizard's instructions on the screen.
- When the installation is finished, restart the computer.
Connecting to the vpn
- Click [Start], All Programs, and click on Cisco VPN Client.
- Select the WebCT connection, and click the [Connect] button on
the toolbar.

- Be patient. It may take a couple minutes to initiate the connection. You
will see a login box where you enter your username and password. This is the
domain login information--the same username and password you use to log on
to your campus computer or e-mail.

- A message will be displayed informing you that this is a private network
belonging to ENMU - Roswell. Read it, and then click the [Continue]
button.

- Click OK, and you will be connected. The yellow lock on your
taskbar at the bottom of the screen verifies that you are connected.
- Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, for example).
- In the Address Bar, type
http://192.168.200.42, press the [Enter] key and log in.

- When you have finished using the VPN connection, disconnect by right
clicking the yellow lock icon, and then selecting Disconnect from the menu.
The taskbar will display a yellow open lock verifying that you have been
disconnected from the VPN client.
