Respondus is a quiz authoring tool that an instructor can use to create quizzes and exams. One quiz can be used for formatted hard copy quizzes in the classroom, WebCT quizzes and self-tests online. The instructor can create WebCT settings and quizzes offline and upload them when it is convenient. Respondus offers randomizing questions and answers to create unique quizzes for all students. Paper quizzes can be saved in different versions as well.

WebCT Server Settings
You need to set up WebCT server settings when you first begin to use WebCT. If you teach campus and prison courses, you'll need to set up two server settings.
NOTE: Our CMS (Course Management System) personality is WebCT 3.x-4.x.

Question Sets: You may set up question sets within a quiz. For example, if you have 15 questions on Sherman's march through Georgia, you can select these questions and designate them as a question set. Then, you can specify that 10 of the 15 will be randomly selected for inclusion in the quiz.
Basic & Availability: Under Basic Settings, Respondus defaults to Deliver all the questions at once. This is not a good idea because it makes cheating easier. Select one of the two options to deliver questions one a time where questions can be revisited or not.
Important: Plan to set the Availability online in the WebCT Quiz Tool settings. Respondus requires entering UTC date and time. Calculating it is a real "science project." Here's a link with a short definition of UTC date and time to allow you to make an informed decision on where you set availability.

Selective Release can be a little tricky. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance if you need to use it.
Security & Submissions: Typically, we do not use the Security settings. Some instructors specify that a copy all students quiz Submissions be delivered to them by e-mail. Enter the message to display to each student as a quiz is completed and your e-mail address. Currently, ENMU-Roswell is not using the Respondus LockDown Browser.
Results specify how you want to display students' quiz scores. Important: In the Score release section, specify when you want to release scores and whether you want the students to view questions and correct answers. The instructor determines whether this will foster cheating, or whether it is crucial to their students' learning process.
